Directed and Art Directed by Danae Gosset Produced by Pencil Studio 3D Lead Design & Animation: Vasco Gross 3D Character Animation: David Bonilla 2D Animation: Britton Korbel, Isabel Stub, Amy Cho, Ewan Creed, Gabby Sibilska, Emma Zwickert Titles Design by Julie Pavia Thanks to Patricia Gloum For this video we used some prompt-based Artificial Intelligence technology to generate the backgrounds. We then produced and layered a lot of 3D animations, footage, and illustration on top of it to make the video feel special and tailored to the song. We then proceeded to illustrate individually all of the frames with a variety of mediums such as watercolor, gouache, acrylic, color pencils, and pastel. As a last coat, we re-generated the entire hand illustrated video through a style transfer AI program. We set it to more or less opacity in some areas of the video, to act like a digital glaze on top of it, without losing the hard labor of the handmade quality. The story we aimed to communicate is about escaping, embracing, and surrendering to the unexpected. Pushing the metaphysical and mystical sense of the human experience, feeling that we belong from the sole exploration of our minds and into the infinity of space. An abstract and psychedelic visual exploration of self-introspection and imagination.

We all get lost in patterns, for some of us they can be totally consuming. I wanted to make a film about the feeling of being totally consumed by one thought. A thought that endlessly repeats, that spirals out of control until there’s nothing of you left. The light effect technique reflects this repetition, it is one singular beam duplicated and then stacked back in time. The light itself is real, no CGI was used in its creation. All the effects are captured in camera. The film was shot on 16mm on the Kimmeridge Ledges of the Jurassic coast in England. A huge thank you to all that made it possible. press: Director’s Library – https://bit.ly/3fGJt4L Shots – https://bit.ly/3C7szDN cast: Joshua Harriette crew: Director – Tom Wakeling Director of Photography – Nick Morris 1st Assistant Director – Luke Wilkinson 1st Assistant Camera – Phil Heron Camera Trainee – Daniel Llobera Runner – Philip Thomas Art Director – Devraj Joshi Music – Evan Gildersleeve Sound Design + Mix – Jack Hallett (Factory Studios) Audio Producer – Ethan Day (Factory Studios) Colourist – Jason Wallis (ETC) Colour Producer – Oscar Wendt (ETC) Scan Operator – Dan Redrup (Digital Orchard) special thanks: Panavision, Digital Orchard, 3D Champions, Factory Studios, ETC, Sorcha Bacon, Esteban Frost, Joan Solsona, Eimear Fitzsimons
