  • This harrowing expedition pushed a group of mountaineers to the mental and physical brink; carving them down to nothing. A six-person team from The North Face and National Geographic attempted to summit an obscure peak in Myanmar (Hkakabo Razi) to determine if it is Southwest Asia’s highest point. The expedition members, led by The North Face athlete and Telluride mountaineer Hilaree O’Neill include, videographer Renan Ozturk, climber Emily Harrington, and National Geographic author Mark Jenkins, photographer Cory Richards, and basecamp manager Taylor Rees. • I wrote this as I waited for the F train at West 4th on a day where it just WASN’T coming. It was a particularly hot and sweaty day and as the station filled up it got hotter and sweatier. Eventually I realized we were 250 people staring into a black tunnel and I started trying to make eye contact with people. Love & life’s greatest opportunities are hiding right in front of our faces… and breathing hot, disgusting air down our necks. So much thanks to Matt Freidell and everyone who helped bring this to life! http://bit.ly/1Ll5Y5w Written, by Max Stossel Directed, by Matthew Freidell Cinematography, by Sean Ferry Starring, Rachel Berman & Ryan Weiss Choreography, by Celia Rowlson-Hall Produced by, Matthew Freidell, Sean Ferry & Max Stossel Graphics/FX by, Matthew Freidell Audio Engineering, By Samuel Witte Extras: Mark Smith, Alex Mizrahi, Anya Raza, Douglas Holt, Pavel Konoplenko, Amy Merrill, Vishal Sapra, Orpheus Mercury, Rameet Chawla, James Hercher, Paul Kuhn, Matthew Brimer, Emmy Bush, Radha Agrawal, Christina Manat, David Yarus, Madison Headrick, Alex Rieflin, Paul Mauer, Stephanie Bagley, Eli Clark-Davis, Dean Ginsberg, Ruthie Ginsberg, Brooke Amber Johnson, Miki Agrawal, Andrew Horn, and Dan Fredinburg. http://on.fb.me/1Jt0ecA https://www.twitter.com/max.stossel http://bit.ly/1Ll5Y5x Copyright © 2015 Max Stossel All Rights Reserved

  • Summer at last. The beaches are overflowing; the rides are running, and fireworks light up the nighttime air. Winter lasts a lifetime; summer is but a fleeting dream. This is a tribute to another passing of the season that seems to be gone before it even begins. For some it will be their first, and for others it will be their last. But here in New York, it’s just one more summer… Filmed on Canon 5DIII running ML RAW hack Canon 24-105mm F4 L Canon 35mm USM F2 IS Slow-motion shots filmed on GH4 w/ .64x Speedbooster XL and same lenses as above Film grain added in After Effects using Film Convert / Gorilla Grain Color graded using HyColour PRO plug-in for FCPX Music: “Gone Beyond” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://bit.ly/1J5mZxG Sounds used: “Seagulls close-up.wav” by juskiddink – http://bit.ly/1JruGUr “nxSample008.wav” by neix – http://bit.ly/1J5mZxH “Subway-Outside Train arrivals-departures.wav” by lonemonk – http://bit.ly/1J5n1FG “Bicycling On Boardwalk 2.WAV” by jakobthiesen – http://bit.ly/1JruGUs
