Loosing himself between memories and fantasies from his childhood, a sailor remembered his encounter, friendship and love with the sea. _ “I first saw them from the top of the cliff Some days I watched them sliding on the sand Coming and leaving as the days went by The wind carrying their scent on my face We were good friends back then I observed them in silence Behind the barrier of sand One of them pulled me into her run She was fiery and fast The other, peaceful Unveiled her treasures in the sunrise You never stopped calling my name Carrying my body on your swell, pulling me away from the shores I’m sailing today come hell or high water on this sea with two faces” _ Directed by Arthur Chaumay (http://bit.ly/2tRG5u3) and Simon Duong Van Huyen (http://bit.ly/2sywXXh) Narrated by Anatole de Bodinat Sound design by Mathieu Tiger Poem written by Arthur Chaumay CG short film directed within the 3rd year’s Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking program at Gobelins, l’école de l’image: http://bit.ly/2tRT7rH

H&ND is a short film that explores different emotions, different moods and their expressions through a hand, The basic core idea was to experiment and play with the fact that the sensation of the touch originates from receivers situated in our skin. These receivers send nerve messages in different ways which our central nervous system interprets as tactile sensations. “Jake Burghart started with VICE 13 years ago. He was 23. ‘When I first started I was like, yeah these guys are cool,’ he tells Stab. ‘I didn’t have a job and was just happy to have one. Since then, it’s all been one big wild ride.’ Jake’s travelled to 69 different countries and is the gentleman behind the camera for VICE’s most notable pieces. He also happens to be handy on a surfboard, which made him the ideal candidate for our Culture Shifters series with House Beer. Jake gave us a rare glimpse into life behind the scenes of North Korea, The Democratic Republic of Congo, The White House with Obama, who after the interview, asked them, ‘If they want to go get some craft beers, because that’s what bearded hipsters do, right?’ ” – Stab Magazine Director: Sam McIntosh Director of Photography: Mike Pagan Cinematography: Mike Pagan, Kevin Jansen Editor: Mike Pagan Music: Spencer Hein, Evan Hein, Aural Method Archival Footage: Jake Burghart, Vice
