Over the past months I’ve been working with Australian photographer Ray Collins to bring his amazing oceanscapes to life in the form of cinemagraphs, a blend between photography and video. Each cinemagraph is created from one of Ray’s stills, and sets it in infinite motion, making a unique moment in time last forever. These cinemagraphs inspired André Heuvelman from the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra to get together with pianist Jeroen van Vliet to record a very moving custom soundtrack, which I combined with a selection of the cinemagraphs. Walker and Michael Beach Nichols A recipient of the Rooftop Filmmaker’s Grant, the film had its World Premiere at the Maryland Film Festival in 2017. A co-production of No Weather and The Cinemart.

In the small town of Binghamton, New York, there spins a 1925 carousel that once inspired Rod Serling and has since become a portal into…the Twilight Zone.

Synopsis: Graphic designer Brett Yasko wanted to save his friend John’s life, so he asked every artist in their town to make a portrait of John. The result is the 2016 art show “John Riegert” – a funhouse containing 250 portraits on the titular subject, with John himself acting as tour guide. This heartfelt story chronicles the making of a singular exhibit and the mental health struggles and personal triumphs of its subject. Directed by: Julie Sokolow Produced by: Olivia Vaughn, Ryan Loew
